What is the name of your band, and how did you get that name?
How would you describe your music? Who are your influences, and what genre do you play?
Wim: I always say our music doesn't just have a beat. It has rythmic punches in the face.
Kim: We play real rock 'n roll and make it modern, instead of modern rock 'n roll that sounds like popmusic. Our infuences are mostly Guns 'n Roses, Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Motörhead, Thin Lizy, Led Zeppelin,Velvet Revolver,... In short all the great rock 'n roll bands
How do you guys go about writing a song (your music-making process)? What usually strikes you to write a song?
Tom: Ussualy, someone comes up with a great riff or a great idea for a song. Than our singer try's to make that into a song. When the song is written everyone puts their own thoughts and ideas into it. Our singer writes the lyrics and mostly writes about real stuff like drugs, prostitution,... But we also have some songs with lyrics that are just funny to listen to. I guess sometimes it's hard to tell when we're serious and when we're not.
What’s your best song so far and tell us about it, what’s it about, how did it happen?
Pieter: Our best song right now is "Don't tell me no". The song is created round this riff Tommy came up with. He played the riff and everyone thought it was really cool. The lyrics are based on a girl we used to now that worked as a prostitute to pay for college. It's about how you can change your life around.
How did you guys get together as a band? Tell us a bit about your history.
Pieter: How we got together is really a dumb story. As I mentioned before some of us attended the same high-school. The singer and the bassist just wanted to start a band to make some money and maybe score some girls. But from the first time we rehearsed together we new we had something special so we stayed at it. Over the years we won some contest, toured in Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, England, France, Germany,... We really take our music seriously and try to give the best show we can for our fans.
What’s the wildest gig you had?
Kim: The wildest gig we had happened not so long ago. We headlined a festival in Belgium and it was really late. The entire crowd had been drinking a lot and there were a lot of bikergangs in the audience. Our singer even jumped in the audience and started moshing with them. We played a great gig and the crowd really liked us. We got them excited by letting some of them dance around on stage and making them sing along to every song. They were headbanging and stage-diving and everything. When we played our last song everybody screamed for more. So we played another one and another one but they kept screaming. After 2 encores we even started to play some covers. But eventually you have to stop playing. So finally we did and the crowd actually got mad! We had gotten them so wound up they were getting crazy. They started fighting amongs each other, they were throwing chairs around and breaking stuff. We had to get out through the back because it was so crazy! We'll never forget that night but we take it as a complement that we can get people that crazy with our music.
Spinal Tap: what’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to anyone of you onstage/offstage?
Wim: One time during a live gig I got up to the mic and told the audience our guitarplayer's (Kim) girlfriend was pregnant and that the entire audience should start clapping for him. Since he didn't know anything it was funny to see his face while everyone was congratulating him. After letting him suffer for 2 songs we told everyone it was just a joke. You should have seen his face!
Where’s the best crowd you’ve played for?
Tim: The best crowed we ever played for was this festival called Schouwrock. It was just great because there were a lot of fans at the show. We brought along this porn-star called Vienna Vixen to dance during the gig and the entire crowd went crazy. There were some kids in front of the stage stage-diving and making a moshpit, our singer climbed on the roof of this contraption next to the stage, and the entire crowd was singing along.
What has been the best thing or experience since joining GBOB?
Wim: I think the best thing since joining GBOB is winning GBOB in our own country! It really showed us we have a lot of fans because literally everyone came out to support us.
If aliens landed in front of you and, in exchange for anything you desire, offered you any position on their planet, what would you want?
If you could trade places with any other person around the world (or at another era) for a week, who would it be
Wim: a pornstar... any pornstar...
Kim: Slash when he played with Guns 'n Roses
Tom: Jimmy Page. Doesn't matter what time in his life!
Tim: Jim Morrisson in the sixties
Pieter: Hugh Hefner in his 40's...

Hey,
