Noctis Notus é uma banda de heavy/thrash metal formada em março de 2008 em Porto Alegre, RS pela vocalista de metal e soprano lírica Juliana Novo (baterista da Crucifixion BR, ex-cantora da banda americana Dremora, ex-cantora da banda eslovaca Lamented Despondency, ex-membro do coro da OSPA).

Nos integrantes incluem-se Márcio Guterres (vocal/guitarra Crucifixion BR) na bateria, Lutti Haggen (ex guitarrista da Savannah) na guitarra e Matheus Souza (Crucifixion BR) no baixo.

'Notus' é o deus do vento sul na mitologia grega, acrescido da palavra latina 'Noctis' que significa noturno.

A sonoridade da banda é uma junção do Heavy Metal e Thrash Metal "Old school" com poderosos vocais rock e operísticos femininos, criando um som bem interessante e original em relação ao cenário mundial de bandas com vocais femininos.

A banda tem apresentado ao vivo versões de algumas de suas influências, bem como as primeiras músicas próprias que estarão no seu primeiro álbum chamado "The Hateful Hours", a ser gravado e lançado em 2010.

Noctis Notus is a brazilian heavy thrash metal band formed in March/2008 in Porto Alegre, RS by lyrical soprano and rock singer Juliana Novo (Crucifixion BR drummer, x-Dremora singer, x-Lamented Despondency singer, x-member of the choir of OSPA).

Members include Márcio Guterres (Crucifixion BR guitar/vocals) on drums, Lutti Haggen (x-Savannah guitarist) on guitars and Matheus Souza (Crucifixion BR) on bass.

'Notus' is the god of south wind in greek mithology, added to latin word 'Noctis' which means nocturnal.

Their sound is a join of Heavy Metal and old school Thrash Metal feel with powerful yet captivating rock/operatic female vocals, making something creative and original in the worldwide female fronted metal scene.

In the meantime, they are performing at live versions of some of their influences, and the first own songs which will be featured in their debut EP named "The Hateful Hours", going to be recorded and released sometime in 2010.
