With only weeks of practice, the band entered Global Battle of the Bands, and on the 14th of June 2012, with only 3 songs ready to play, Micropsia won 1st place in the Brisbane heat of the competition. Infused with inspiration, and with the realisation of the power of what had been achieved in such a short time together, Micropsia have wasted no time in working the collective material into a out-&-out rocking live set.

Former member of Empty Art, Daniel Cleaver first sought to scalp bassist Chris McMahon to work on a new project in 2007. A butcher by trade, Bender produces a hypnotic sound whose screams echo the ages of influence of rock n roll!

Chris "Night's Watch" McMahon
~Weapon of Choice: 5 String
~Special Ability: Immunity to Poison/Cannot be Turned.
~Finishing Move: Bottom B
Former member of Aliveminded, Chris McMahon is a fingerstyle bassist who always has a 5 string ready to rock. The level-headed member of the group, "The Watcher on the Wall" puts out a big bass sound that can still be felt through the sands of time!

Phil "Stampy" Hoy

The third member of the group to arrive, Phil Hoy has been playing drums with Dan & Chris for the last 3 years. A painter by trade, "Stampy the Elephant" is the quintessential rock drummer who summons the spirit of the maker whenever he stamps his feet!

Daniel "Sparky" Phoenix

The newest member to the group, Daniel Phoenix is a frontman paragon, born to rock! After summiting Mt Kilimanjaro in November 2011, a new years resolution was made to record an original album in 2012. Demo guitar and vocal tracks were recorded and uploaded, and an ad placed in Rave Magazine "looking for a lead guitar, bass & drums". In April 2012, after receiving the very first call to answer the ad, Daniel Phoenix met with the remaining members of Red Lover Dead at Empire Studios in Brisbane for their regular Sunday night rehearsal. Little did we all know how much our lives would change that night. Within a matter of weeks the new project of Micropsia was formed, and all the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place!
