A smooth combination of Metalcore, Alternative and old school rock creates an intriguing modern melodic metal sound with a broad range of appeal.
Founding member and rhythm guitarist Adolf Bosman was introduced to bassist Tiina Nieuwmeijer and they decided to form a band which appreciated the harder side of rock. Lead guitarist Nardus Groenewald joined them shortly after, and his wide experience in music and versatile guitar playing made him the perfect addition to the group. With some searching and phone calls they were introduced to drummer Corné Goosen who blew their minds with his drumming abilities. It took about two months before they coincidently met vocalist Richard Wheeler with a voice range that fitted in perfectly.
Remember Your Mortality is a translation of the Latin phrase "Momento Mori", which describes a movement in classic art and philosophy created with the purpose to remind people to live by facing them with their own mortality. Remember Your Mortality's music has a strong inclination to the positive side of life and strives lyrically to create a yearning for the light at the end of the tunnel.
Remember Your Mortality was previously known as The Random Article and was founded in Pretoria, South Africa in June 2010 and is currently in pre-production of their debut EP,Epitome.
"I’ll make my life substantial in every way;
make the minutes count, during the night and the day.
Never back down, never back away!
Substantiality in life has to stay!"
