Rude Tiger started as The Morris Brothers Band with 15 year old Jas Morris and 17 year old brother Dan. They completed over 500 gigs from 2001 - 2009 including playing with legends like Wishbone Ash & Johnny Winter. Consistently growing their fan base and building a strong set incorporating a few early originals. It wasn't long before they were gigging 3-4 times weekly, creating a storm wherever they played and ever increasing Jas and Dan’s appetite for writing their own material.
In 2003, Jas entered Guitarist Magazine, Guitarist of the Year and took the judges by storm. He left being crowned the UK's Guitarist of the Year. This increased the hype of the band and brought in prestigious support gigs.
In 2006 a change of drummer created an exciting and youthful new dynamic. The decision was made to change the name to Rude Tiger and concentrate on writing and performing the high energy style of rock they have become so well loved for.
2011 has been an amazing year so far touring in Europe and playing with FEEDER, REEF, TINIE TEMPAH, ELIZA DOOLITTLE, TOPLOADER and CALVIN HARRIS and booked to play with TEXAS, ZANE LOWE and OCEAN COLOUR SCENE. Rude Tiger have also recorded their new single “Desolate” and filmed a video to accompany it’s release.
Jas Morris (Vocals/Guitar) 25, Dan Morris (Vocals/Bass) 27 and D Collings (Drums/Percussion) 23 relentlessly take their huge sound to new heights with their “off the scale” performance and deliver live, exciting, high energy rock.
Dez Confait - After Dark Magazine recently wrote
“There are moments when you expect something utterly ordinary but get slapped in the face so hard by excellence you are simply stunned into silence, this was Rude Tiger they are so incredibly talented it's hard to wonder what will stop them from being massive“!
They have also gained such comments as -
Hugh Manson (Them Crooked Vultures - John Paul Jones Guitar Tech, Muse guitars)
‘They're simply Brilliant! / Very, very, very, very good live!’
- Vic Morgan - BBC Radio Devon
- The Miscreants
- Wendy ‘MAMA Stone’ Joseph (Manager of Joss Stone and owner of Mama Stones).
Early 2011 saw Rude Tiger touring Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Sweden) which was absolutely incredible for the band. All the venues have asked the band back and Rude Tiger will be returning in the not too distant future with a more extensive European Tour. Coming up in 2011 they will be recording their Debut Album in a top London studio.
If there is one thing you can say about Rude Tiger, it's that they are certainly heading straight for the big time! Watch out for this band!
