Since late 2007 an ill and relentless wind has been blowing through the backwaters of Finland. Falling down on the righteous like an avalanche of power while pounding their earlobes like a storm of hails. Beckoning those wild enough to hear its haunting call and bow down under the supreme power of the riff. This fierce movement has been led by five acolytes, each with their own unique abilities;

Mika: He has the word. The word is just and it commands all regardless of kin or race to follow and obey. A loud voice and muscles with bad-ass tattoos also help.

Antti: He pounds the skins. The skins are loud as they make sounds that skins make when you pound them. ‘Nuff said.

Jukka: He makes the strings sing. Sometimes the strings sing so loud that they pop out of their place and run off to buy Mentos. But no one said being a guitar hero would be easy.

Hannu: He keeps it in the pocket. What it is and why it’s there is of no concern as long as it stays there and works as damn well as it does.

Mikko: He has the word and makes the strings sing too. It’s like walking and chewing bubblegum. Not an easy job. For a man.

Being the ambassadors of Northern Power-Groove is hard work but long nights on the road and in the rehearsal cave have honed this five-piece into near perfection. The traditional Scandinavian melancholy is a strong theme in the songs but it is always sprinkled around as an extra ingredient with the main emphasis being on a solid in-your-FACE groove and a strong vocal performance. In addition to that, our lyrical themes deal with the darker undertones of life, the focus being on personal perspective and the experience of the individual.

When it comes to aggressive modern hard rock our package is firm from the right places. The same can be said for our dedication to the art of old-fashioned riff-based songwriting and to delivering a live experience to be remembered.

This is the basis for our brand of aggression and we are eager to spread our message to larger stages and wider audiences across the lands.
