Summer on September has started its journey in the middle 2004 by using the Letter for Mama as the starter name with the concept of post-hardcore/emo. In early 2005, after producing EP, this band has played few gigs in Kuala Lumpur. By end of 2005, Letter for Mama was disposed of for a while because majority of member of the band has further their study in local Universities. In the mean time, Diman (vocalist) has joined Portrait of Murder as a vocalist as well with metalcore concept songs. After nearly a year, Diman has determine to regenerate back Letter for Mama. He called Iskandar (guitar) to inform back his motive and at the mean time with a handful support by Portrait of Murder drummer, Remy, Letter for Mama has started its first step again as a newborn baby. After that, they has found Achap which later carry a role as second guitarist and at the same time, Achap also has another band which called Asboon. Achap has given his idea by recommending us to take Raja to play a role as Keyboardist. Our very first step as Summer on September started when we are writing our first single. At the same time as well, we still don’t have a person to carry a role as our bassist. Later, Remy has recommended to take Fitt (former guitarist of Portrait of Murder) to carry a role as bassist. With the agreement by Fitt to play bass (it was his first time as a bassist), Summer on September later has completed its line up and has decided to make a final touch of completion of the band by recruiting Hazwan as a second vocals which results there was a difference in arrangement of songs. Finally, we manage to finish our very first single, “Tonight I Can’t Sleep”. Since that, we received a lots of invitation to play gigs around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. By July 2010, Hazwan has left the band due to his commitment because he want to focus more on his career. After searching for the replacement of clean vocal's shoes, finally we have recruited a fresh lady vocal, Lisa ( Achap's cousin ) which results there are a bit difference in the arrangement of our songs regarding the combination of heavy and clean vocals. Our primary target is hoping this band will carry on to the future and our music can be easy listen by people across Malaysia, South East Asia and if possible the whole world.
